Great Travel Moment This is an image of Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home in Charlottesville, Va. This leg of our trip was memorable because the only other time that I had been there was when I was in elementary school 30 years ago. I was too young to appreciate what I was experiencing at the time. Now, having experienced it as an adult, it was very moving to not only remember my visit there as a youth, but also to really come up close with a vital piece of history. To reflect on one of the main historical figures that helped make our country what it is today helps you appreciate the simpler things in life and helped me forget for a short while about our current economic crisis and that I have been unemployed for a year. |
