Great Travel Moment

It was the early morning of October 23, 2008. I felt sad to be leaving Venice even though our trip was not over and we had more destinations on the horizon. We had had the most wonderful time exploring Venice and agreed that we would one day return. My husband and I had checked out of our hotel and hired a water taxi to take us to the airport. As we came around a corner nearing the Grand Canal sunlight burst through the old buildings and cast a golden hue over everything. It was a spectacular moment and it will be with me forever, looking at the photos I shot that morning transports me back in time to that incredible morning boat ride. The light in the sky was heavenly and for a moment time seemed to stand still. It was one of those moments in life where your heart feels so full and you look around you and everything is so utterly perfect it brings tears to your eyes.
