Great Travel Moment Since I was a child I would read about geography, landmarks, world wonders, and travelling. I remember doing a school project on the Aztecs and Mayans and vowing to someday travel to see the ancient ruins. When this dream came true, I reminisced back to that starry-eyed time; my younger self had no idea just how many incredible things existed in this part of the world - things like sinkholes scatted through out the Yucatan Peninsula. This picture is taken at Cenote Ik Kil; swimming in the cenote was a fantastic experience. After being immersed in the Mayan culture, it felt otherworldly and almost sacred to be swimming there. Of the Yucatan, I will always remember the strong winds along the coast, the childhood dreams come true at Chichén Itzá, the cleansing cool water of the cenote, the relaxed vibe of Isla Mujeres, and the friends we met along the way. |
