Great Travel Moment We were in Bruge, Belgium, enjoying the food, especially the double-fried French fries, which the Flemish call frittes. We liked a tiny place where a woman was frying up a mountain of fries behind a small counter. My traveling companion asked to take her photo and she happily complied. We took our frittes outside to eat and sat at a little table in front of the shop. I took this opportunity to snag the camera (my friend is the photographer and she is never in the pictures). I stood, walked a few feet and turned to take the photo. As I was focusing on my friend, the "frittes" woman poked her head out of the door and waved. My friend, happily munching on her fries, was oblivious to what was happening. |
