Great Travel Moment My favorite photograph of all time is this honeymoon picture of my husband and I walking on a Virgin Gorda beach in 2004. The simplicity of the picture as we held hands and stared into the distance captured the hope & optimism we shared of a happy & healthy future together. 7 months ago I was diagnosed with Leukemia. During chemotherapy I developed a severe blood infection which resulted in my vital organs shutting down and loss of circulation to my limbs. I had to have five fingers and both of my feet amputated. I carry this picture with me everywhere & have looked at it often over the last several months. It reminds me every day that it is not what we lose but what we have left that really counts. |
