Great Travel Moment I found these beautiful columns just being allowed to fall down in some little city park in Athens. We were on our honeymoon and were wondering around Athens trying to get to the Parthenon but not having much luck when we came to this run down city park that had the enormous columns scattered throughout so we decided to just sit down and eat our lunch there and had a great time. So when I see this picture it always reminds me of several great lessons. First it reminds me of how much fun traveling can be even when you don?t have the money to do it first class. Second it reminds me that some of the best places a places that you find when you are not looking for them so you don?t always have to go on a tour or have a guide because most of the time you will have more fun just exploring on your own. And third it reminds me of the month long honeymoon that we took backpacking through Europe and the Near East on nothing but love and adventuresome spirits. |

I love this shot! I agree - exploring on your own and discovering things that you did not expect to see is what makes a true vacation and a true traveller! It's true what they say, that "our happiest moments as tourists always seem to come when we stumble upon one thing while in pursuit of something else."
