Great Travel Moment I was on my way to the Mumbai airport, to leave India after a two week trip. I had just checked out of the Hilton Towers Oberoi, and the cab driver was making his slow but nerve-wracking way through the city traffic, when across the flats of "The Queen's Necklace" I saw this site. The driver didn't need to pull over, we were moving so slowly, for me to snap this picture. As we continued on I asked him what that building, and line of people, were about. "Pilgrims" was his one word answer. I later looked up the name of this mosque, and found that it is the Haji Ali Dargah Mosque. It sits on an islet just off the southern edge of Mumbai. The gentleman sitting with his head down in the right of the picture seems to symbolize the reflective quality of that noiseless crowd. |
