Great Travel Moment A gypsy woman doing her best to coax some coins from the tourists in Piazza San Marco, Venice. I was traveling with my 2 daughters, ages 11 and 7, who were so tenderhearted and wanted to give LOTS of coins to every gypsy/beggar we came across. It was a bit of a dilemma for me as I wanted to encourage their charitable nature but also did not want to give to all the many beseeching hands. After a thorough discussion we decided that each one of us would give to one beggar per day, which we did for the remainder of the trip - it was a great parent/child moment! |
