Great Travel Moment

Our ?China Discovery Trip? found my 11 year old grandson and me cruising on the Yangtze River. This was just part of our ?dream trip? together. Here we find ourselves cruising through the Wu Gorge . The river was carving its way between precipices of overhanging green mountains. Abundant with historical relics and cultural heritage, this great experience with dazzling peaks caused me to pause. I thought about my visit as a US Marine to China 55 years earlier, and how my grandson almost died from a drowning accident. He recovered only to suffer a heart attack and had open heart surgery to repair a damaged heart valve. Four months before this trip he fractured a leg after being hit by a car on his bicycle. Despite all of his challenges, my grandson and I were able to share together this wonderful moment.
