Great Travel Moment This lady was over 90 years old and had walked 5 kilometers to get to the doctor. She was unable to read her Bible because of her eyesight. Gideon, my translator, told me to address her as "grandmother". A term of respect and love for older women. When I called her "Grandmother" in swahili she jumped up and hugged my neck. She was honored whenI asked to have a picture taken with the two pf us. I still get tears in my eyes when I think of the love of this frail older lady. |
