Great Travel Moment My dad is an international business consultant and has been on every continent. He has seen some of the most beautiful and breathtaking landscapes in the world. Out of all of these, he has said that a trip to Lake Powell tops them all. This majestic sunset was captured on a family houseboat vacation. Lake Powell is located on the Utah-Arizona border. This is the home of the famous Utah Rainbow Bridge. Being the second largest man-made reservoir in the United States, Lake Powell holds 24,322,000 acre feet of water when full. I live within 100 miles of Lake Powell and have been there multiple times. I cannot believe that anything could be more spectacular than a sunset illuminating this beautiful water. Sometimes we ignore the beauty around us. Sometimes the most beautiful places on earth are in our own backyard. |

This is so true! I'm from rural Tennessee, and every trip home to my parent's farm (where 6 generations of our family have lived) I am struck anew by the simple beauty of the green trees, pastures, and clear creeks.
