Great Travel Moment

Lisbon is city full of stairs, walking through it is a workout. But this one particular staircase at the Castelo de Sao Jorge is probably the softest, most inviting staircase one can encounter in Lisbon. It practically beckons you to sleep. I still remember the groggy travelers resting in the shady courtyard beneath the staircase and the solitary musician and his guitar serenading them to sleep with his soft, haunting fado music. Everytime I see this photo I am again lulled into that peaceful, drowsy state of the contented traveler who's only agenda for the remainder of the day is to rest and watch the sunset.
