Great Travel Moment On our recent trip to China, we went on the Yangtze River Three Gorges tour. One of the ports of call is the Shennong Stream. Here, we went upstream in the peapod boats rowed by the Boat Trackers or the Tujia men. When we entered shallow water, the Tujia men (4-6) would jump out, put on their handmade bamboo harness and pull the boat across the rocks and pebbles with about 10 people on board. It was amazing and heartwarming to see these poor people, young and old, work so hard. It makes one more appreciative. |
