Great Travel Moment

Visiting the DMZ between North and South Korea is by far one of the most interesting and surreal things I have ever experienced. To witness the the Cold War alive and well and it's imapact in the world, is not something you can do in many places. Remembering the tour of the DMZ does not bring back happy memories full of smiles and laughter. The seriousness and almost tragic nature of the place permeates the atmosphere. It makes one wonder how we ever plan to resolve disputes when we are still drawing lines in the sand. Maybe one day we will live in a world where our borders don't have to be patrolled but are crossed freely, uniting the family and friends that have been kept apart.
