Great Travel Moment On our 40th Wedding Anniversary, my wife Kathy and I visited Mont Saint Michel on the Normandy coast. We went there and also to Paris to celebrate our life and love together...and remember our only other visit to Paris in 1981. During our first visit to Paris in 1981, our son, Michael, celebrated his 9th Birthday by walking along the Seine, being photographed with an elderly French lady and several friendly Paris gendarmes, and carrying his French birthday pasteries up to the second level of the Eiffel Tower where our family all sang"Happy Birthday" to Michael. These memories of Michael are especially golden since he was killed by a truck while training for a bicycle race in Oklahoma at age 17. Going to the Normandy Coast and Mont Saint Michel was one special way that Kathy and I were able to remember the joys of our first trip to Paris and train travels in France with Michael and our daughters, Rebecca and Jennifer. |
