Great Travel Moment After graduating from University my wife and I traveled to Kenya and Tanzania for our first experience of a safari. After the excitement of the overland journey and camping in the Serengeti we traveled by ferry to Zanzibar to relax and learn how to scuba dive. This photo captures everything that is special about the Northern tip of Zanzibar. The picture was taken from the small road that led from the local village to the turtle sanctuary. It was as if the place had never been touched and we were the first to see the beautiful beach through the gap in the trees. This photo also brings back fond memories of the turtle sanctuary where our friend, so engrossed with taking a picture of the turtle, fell on top of it into the murky water. Later we were lucky enough to dive some of the finest reefs we have experienced and see the turtles in their natural habitat. |
