Great Travel Moment One of Moscow's most prominent landmarks is St. Basil Cathedral in Red Square. It was closed to the public for many years, and was re-opened for tours in 2004. The rich history, three foot thick walls, narrow, tall spiraling stairwell, and stone floors worn from centuries of monks' feet walking left you with much to reflect on. The gray, drab interior in no way compares to the beautiful ornate exterior of the building with brilliant colors and patterns. Perhaps the beauty of the exterior came from the devotion within. |
