Great Travel Moment Designed by architect Georg Pencz (1500-1550), Krakow, Poland's Wawel Castle was built as a tomb chapel of the last Jagiellons (a royal dynasty originating in Lithuania that reigned in some Central European countries between the 14th and 16th century). The Castle was hailed by many historians of art as the most beautiful example of Toscan renaissance north of the Alps. The design of the internal sculptures, stuccoes and paintings was carried out by some of the most renowned artists of the era, including Santi Gucci, Hermann Vischer, as well as the architect himself. The beauty of this location and the innate gentle nature of the Polish people makes going to Poland a life changing experience you will not soon forget. |
