Great Travel Moment

I quit my day job in 2001 at a fast-paced Fortune 500 telecom player to start my own small design& communications business. Between my corporate resignation and hanging the shingle for my new venture, my wife Ursula and I took a much-needed month-long trip through the center of Europe. During a restive day of touring in old Amsterdam (one of our favorite cities), Ursula paused for this photo over the Pringsengracht Canal in the laid-back Jordaan district. Rare in Holland, it was an unusually blue day for that time of year— a day that ended with white wine and cheese fondue at De Prins Café and fond new memories of our“life-pause” in Europe.
