Great Travel Moment Wind comes thousands of miles along the Tasman Sea to blast into Farewell Spit in New Zealand. After building up speed for that distance, it doesn't stop when it hits land. Wharariki Beach, a tiny windswept stretch of land, bears most of the burden of stopping these winds and the landscape shows signs of wear the land is less windswept and more carved by the dominating winds. While our only goal was to keep moving to get up to the water and away from the sand, it was impossible not to notice the amazing windswept patterns in the sand. |
