Great Travel Moment This day I cherish. My friend knew I wanted to return to the island Guraidhoo, where I had been two years earlier. I wanted to see people I had photographed and give them copies of their pictures. He arranged for us to meet his friends' family and to spend the morning at their home. Then, we walked around the island, taking pictures and visiting people. We ended the afternoon at a café, where my friend said,I called the local restaurants. I wanted to find one that would have vegetarian food for you. You can have this. It was a plate of assorted deserts. It is in those types of gestures that you know how someone feels about you. As you can imagine, his thoughtfulness that day keeps this memory close to heart. Of all the pictures I took that day, the ones of this girl and her brother are some of my favorites. I hope she remains carefree in life and that she remains confident in herself. I hope she knows how beautiful she is. |

Ditto on the observation. I love the beauty and innocence of little children. Nice capture.

What a beautiful picture and great narrative. We make it a point to take peoples' names and addresses after taking their photograph and then we send them copies of the pictures when we get home. Some of them have corresponded with us over the years!
