Great Travel Moment My fiance is from rural New Hampshire, and this picture is from the first summer visit I ever took to see his family. I had been to New Hampshire to ski as a kid, but hadn't spent any time there when there wasn't snow on the ground. We lucked out on this trip, because the weather was perfect. We took out a kayak on one of the local lakes and paddled around for hours, basking in the sun and gliding past fields of lily pads, accompanied only by dragonflies and butterflies. We came across this lonely little boathouse and I had to snap a picture. It reminded me of New Hampshire in general, standing there strong after many harsh winters and daring the cold in its bright red paint. I've been back many times since, and taken many pictures, but this one is the one that always takes me back there. |
