Great Travel Moment This is one of my favorite areas in Prague. These wide, winding steps remind me of my struggle to climb any elevated area years ago. I had to climb the steps backwards and even then, I got so short of breath. This was what it looked like in September ,2005. During our first trip in October, 1990, these steps were slippery and very crowded. This was where the vendors sold their goods to the tourists. When it got dark, some sold Russian soldiers' uniforms including medals. My husband got a mug of beer for 10 U.S. cents and I got ice cream for 9 cents. That was when it was part of Czechoslovakia. Prices are higher now but still very reasonable. Prague is my all-time favorite city in Eastern Europe. |
