Strolling around St. Germain is always a treat, especially in the busy food market area. This shop window was recessed amidst the clutter of outdoor cafe tables. When we finally spied it and approached, this display of beautifully decorated trout seemed to epitomize the French delight in food and aethetics. Drawn by the colorful window, we went inside, where a Parisian shopkeeper was delighted to show us, and allowed us to sample, his assortment of cheeses and prepared foods. We overbought, of course, but enjoyed a terrific picnic dinner!
