Great Travel Moment Drill monkeys are closely related to other species of primates, such as the baboon and the mandrill. Drills occupy a very restricted range and are found primarily in coastal forests in western Cameroon, eastern Nigeria and the West African island of Bioko. Drills are primarily terrestrial but will climb trees to obtain fruit. While on a business/pleaseure trip through Cameroon, I spent a day follwing a small group of these critters hoping for that Kodak moment that sometimes never comes. I had hoped to get a shot of one of them exposing its huge canine teeth, but it was not meant to be. Instead, I managed to get a shot of this drill, who seemed more than willing for me to take his portrait. |

Interesting face.
Thanks for the filter and software tips. I really appreciate it. The reason I got the 8700 was for lightweight travel, and it really works for that. But now that I've seen the magnificent shots you take with your digital SLR, I'm really contemplating another purchase!
