"Live the Cover!" Contest: MaldivesSpotted Eagle Ray in Curacao

Great Travel Moment This graceful Spotted Eagle Ray followed us along our dive in Curacao. It was one of our first times diving in the ocean, and it was a encounter we will never forget. It was an exciting feeling when we noticed it emerging from the dark water in the didstance, but it wasn't until it came closer that we realized the animal's impressive size and beauty. The Eagle Ray was roughly 13 feet long, yet still glided through the water with incredible elegance. I love this picture because it reminds me that divers have opportunities to experience things that many people never get to see- all of the beautiful and interesting creatures living in the ocean. Scuba diving is one of the most exciting and rewarding activities I have experienced. It's impossible to have a bad day when you're diving! |

Melissa, this is a wonderful shot. You're so right about Scuba Diving, it's so exciting and rewarding!! We are hoping to see some whale sharks this summer in the Seychelles! What was your depth for this photo?
