Great Travel Moment This picture was taken of Cabot Cabin, which is on the Mt Cabot trail in the White Mountains, NH. Mt Cabot is one of the 4000 foot Mountains in NH; its summit is 4170 feet. I was hiking Mt Cabot in February after a deep snowstorm; it was an exhausting day of breaking trail through the powder. The time was getting late when we finally made the Cabin, knowing we had just a little bit left before making the summit. The view of the cabin with the sun setting on it and the fresh snow was breathtaking. It reminds me now and made me realize then, that hard work pays off in the end. Persistence does have rewards. Just look at this picture if you ever need a reason to hike in winter, the peace and beauty that is so different than any other time of year. |
