Great Travel Moment This photo was taken this past July 2007 in Vieux Quebec City,(or Old Quebec) Quebec, Canada. To me it captures all the charm of this beautiful city, which is rich in French history and flavor. Like it's people, has an old world charm with a 20th century North American attitude. You can see this fresh sprit, or joie de vivre, in it's young people and in the French fusion food found in many of the great restuarants throughout the city. I don't think I had a bad meal the entire week I was there! I think this images catches the aura of a city that's welcoming but continues to look into the past with pride. It was exciting exploring Old Quebec City with it's small art district that is similar to Montmartre in Paris. Although the Quebecoises hold onto their language, they welcomed a vistor like me with my poor French! It was a great place to go and get a little taste of France and not feel intimidated in trying to speak the language. Again, as my image states: Bienvenue a Vieux Quebec! |
