This was taken during the Naadam Festival in Kharkhorin, once the capital of Mongolia. The local people converge on the festival grounds from miles around, most on horseback, to watch the sports and to catch up with friends. It is the major social event of the year, calling for your best clothes. You Attire ranged from the internationally popular jeans and t-shirts to the beautifully tailored traditional coats. Attending the festivals in smaller towns is a wonderful way to experience the event as the locals do.
