Great Travel Moment The man shown in this photograph taken in Prague is reaching for help. He's embarrassed to look, to ask, to allow anyone to see his face or gaze into his eyes. He is dressed in jeans, a jean jacket and sneakers, and uses his hat to collect. He begs amidst lavish stores and crowds of tourists searching for the hottest restaurant, hunting for that spectacular view from the Charles Bridge, and hoping to find the perfect souvenir to take home with them. What these tourists don't know is that the image of this man in need is the most significant memory that they can take home with them. This man is in pain. He is hungry. He is tired. He is afraid, afraid to reveal the starvation in his eyes. He is holding out his hand in need, but who will respond? |
