Great Travel Moment There's no"sleeping in" when in Tanzania. The early morning sunrise will get you no matter how deep you are buried in your bed, but this is also the time when the animals are the most active. So good thing we got up early to travel down into the Ngorongoro Crater because as we emerged onto the grassy plain, our driver, Simon, spotted in the distance a pride of lions teasing some zebras. We sat there in silence as the early morning sun showered from above, excited to watch"the kitties". Once the lions were bored playing with the zebras, they suddenly changed their direction and headed straight toward us. With our hearts racing and our video camera rolling, we waited to see how close they would get. And as the lions strolled pass our truck, we knew that we couldn't ask for a better moment. |
