Great Travel Moment Never have I seen such devotion to a religion like in Lithuania. My husband and I first went to see the capital Vilnius, which is very picturesque and quite worth a visit, but when we came to the hill of the crosses, we were just overwhelmed by the sheer size of it and the number of crosses everywhere. And even though it was late in the afternoon, the weather was antyhing but good and the light was miserable, we were not the only visitors there, but everybody who I saw seemed to be touched and just stood and looked in amazement. |

hello-
nice shots of the H of C...
i was around there a few years ago,
and the Hill is in fact in Lithuania, near the town of Siauliai, not in Latvia. it's not too far from the border, though.
just in case you win we need to give the Lithuanians credit (!)
cheers.

Also, the stark clarity in the foreground looks sharp (as in great)!

This is my favorite of your "cross" shots. I like the line they follow and the gray tone. Interesting!

I have to correct myself. We did go to Vilnius in Lithuania but this picture was taken near Riga in Latvia, got confused. Sorry.
