Great Travel Moment As we stopped for lunch during our river tour of the Lesser Three Gorges on the Daning River tributary to the Yangtze, Rob and I decided to hike the trial along the river bluff to the Buddhist shrine carved into the mountainside high above the river. We were allowed to kneel before the shrine and burn an incense offering to the god under the careful supervision of the monk. Then in respect for godly tradition all over the world, we were instructed to pay 40 yuan for the priveledge before we were allowed to leave. |
