Great Travel Moment This print is from a 1992 visit to Quintana Roo in the Yucatan where we visited both Tulum and Chichen Itza. One of the things that struck me when wandering through these amazing ruins was the apparent 'lookout' spots. I found the labyrinthian nature of some of the ruins appealing, and there always seemed to be some hole-in-the-wall from which to spy on what I imagine were weak points in their defenses perhaps. But naturally, for me, the modern traveler, these holes presented perfect framing of simply beautiful scenery and stunning views. |
