Great Travel Moment I never thought that I would be allowed outside of the safari truck while in the Serengeti. However, not only did we camp for two nights out in the Moru Kopjes, we went for a couple of quick walks around the park. One walk was up to Gong Rocks known for the peculiar metallic sound they make when you hit them with another rock. If you're talented, you might be able to play a song. However, the kopjes are some of the highest spots around the Serengeti so you can get incredible views of the vast grasslands. We were told that the kopjes were formed as lava burst through the earth's crust and solidified very quickly. Many of the rocks look like bubbles stacked on top of one another. |
