I have the most amazing God-daughter and each year I take her somewhere special on a holiday.This photo was taken at the glacier in Juneau, Alaska where we took a helicopter across the icefields and then stepped out to walk across the surface, peering deep into the glowing aqua crevases. The guide in this photo reached out his had to a passenger while Claire looked on, waiting for me to join her. The helicopter ride and the lessons of the receding glacier are carved into our memories as deep as the crevase we stepped across.
