I took this picture in Bihar, India in August 2007. Major flooding had affected the state causing death, displacement and starvation. The Government aid was slow to come so people began creating road-blocks in protest. The car I was in was stopped for a few hours so I took the opportunity to photograph Biharis walking by. This image captures how despite the dire circumstances, women continue with daily life.
