Great Travel Moment

For me, this picture epitomizes the Grand Canyon adventures that our family had during our eight-day rafting trip on the dazzling Colorado River. Its spectrum of colors spans the rainbow and the scene is dark and mysterious, as it is any time that you are away from the scorching, intense sunlight. One feels like he or she is a pioneer adventurer, possibly winding through this slot in the rock for the first time in history. As for composition, I like the overall nature of the lighting in the depths of the canyon and the feeling of claustrophobia that one gets in losing oneself deep within the rock. Beauty is all around us - we just need to open our eyes to see it.
