Great Travel Moment My trip to Syria was such incredibly memorable not only because of the never-ending wealth of unspoiled, stunning historic sites to discover and enjoy all over the country but also because of the strong sense of being safe and welcomed everywhere we went. While everybody back at home questioned if it was really a good idea to go to that part of the world, once we were there, a country where crime is practically non existent, the warmth of the locals made us feel extraordinarily at ease. Add to that some incredibly delicious gastronomic experiences, some very fun shopping and the great feeling of being well away from the regular traveler's mass markets, and it is almost reluctantly that I am writing these words here. Syria is a very well kept secret that any traveler with a taste for a challenging "voyage of discovery" will certainly enjoy. |
