"Live the Cover!" Contest: MexicoGilligan's Caribbean Island

Great Travel Moment I was standing on the deck of a cruise ship two years ago, waiting for a Caribbean sunset, while this small island appeared like a mirage in the middle of the blue. We had been sailing for about 2 hours upon leaving Honduras when it appeared. I had never seen a small island so far from the mainland before, and I started daydreaming of living there. I imagined myself, the professor and Mary-Ann. I like to escape at times, and seeing this island reminded me of my own wandering spirit. The lone palms, the inhabitants, and the lush green which I would find there was all something that I had envisioned various times in my head. This island oasis standing alone in the big sea, gave me hope that when I need to escape, that island in the middle of nowhere will be waiting. |
