Whether or not you're serious about wine, this view is an inspiring one with which to start the day. The tidy rows of cabernet sauvignon vines that extend to the oak trees and barley fields in the distance are a prized part of the 165-acre Justin Winery, one of five dozen notable growers in California's upstart Paso Robles area, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Since its first crush in 1987, the small winery has, thanks in part to its flagship Isosceles blend, helped this region linger in oenophiles' minds and on their palates. The grapes outside your suite will ripen in October—cabernet is the last crop of the season. To enjoy the fruit of earlier harvests, sit down in the dining room for a multicourse meal and a sampling of the house wine: There are nine types to choose from, including syrah, chardonnay, and sauvignon blanc.
