Vancouver hotels
Vancouver's hotels—at least thus far—aren't especially design-y or moderne. Top-end lodgings are typically spacious and immaculate, with excellent service—but most have decor and amenities dating back a decade or more. The advent of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games should change that; many hotels are already in renovation mode, and some new contenders are coming to town, including a third Fairmont property, a Shangri-La Hotel, and—rumor has it—a W Hotel. All of these should open by late 2008 or early 2009.
