There's no knowing when a musical moment will become a defining moment. When Jimi Hendrix took the stage at Woodstock in 1969 and performed his incendiary version of "The Star Spangled Banner," nearly all of the 450,000 wet and bedraggled fans had already left. Imagine the bragging rights if you had stayed: Man, you should've been there. If you're a music fan, you've missed your share of moments: Live Aid, Altamont, U2 at Red Rocks. But here's the thing: New moments are getting made every day, so take a bit of the rock spirit and get rolling. Woodstock's original location in Bethel, New York, is seeing a new performing arts center open this summer, with a special weekend in August commemorating the original concert (pictured). Otherwise, rambling man (or woman), look to our list of defining musical moments, and find today's corollary. So you can be there.
