Dinner at the Witchery by the Castle
9:30 pm: If all that contemporary theater and comedy makes you yearn for a little old-fashioned romance, here's a place to get medieval: the Witchery by the Castle restaurant, all heavy tapestry, gilding, and 16th-century decadence (in fact, we called the attached hotel one of the best places to have an affair). Minimalists should beat a hasty retreat back down the Royal Mile to have dinner at the Hotel Missoni. But if Gothic surroundings are just what you need to make your dining experience complete, then eating foie gras by candlelight here may be a high point of your trip.
