8:30 PM: Dine at Three on the Bund
Three on the Bund, a grand Beaux Arts structure that dates back to 1916 with a postmodern interior courtesy of Michael Graves, houses the esteemed Shanghai Gallery of Art, an Evian Spa, plenty of shops, and four of Shanghai's top restaurants. Jean Georges Shanghai serves haute East-meets-West cuisine; Whampoa Club features stylish Shanghainese; Laris is the home of Australian-Greek chef David Laris's experimental international fare; and New Heights (pictured), offers mod Asian brasserie dishes. But Three on the Bund's crowning glory is the top-floor lookout deck, where VIPs snuggle into two- and eight-seat private dining rooms and order from any of the chefs toiling away below.
