Leather Boots in Buenos Aires
When the Prince of Wales needs new riding boots, he doesn't turn to his countrymen. He calls Casa Fagliano, in the polo capital of the world. Craftsmen at this Buenos Aires atelier—in operation since 1892—spend upward of 45 hours on each pair of bespoke boots, measuring and working buttery Argentine leather to the exact size and shape of your feet. Customization options for the ten basic styles, from classic riding boots to cowboy, include a spectrum of colors and your choice of a pull-on fit or a laced or zippered closure. It will take at least two fittings and five days to get the process started; the boots can be shipped home if you can't stay long enough to see them completed. Casa Fagliano also saves the foot casts of all its customers, should you want a new pair down the line. Ask nicely while you're there and they'll show you the casts for Prince Charles or the Sultan of Brunei.
