At your first fitting, the tailors will present the range of cuts, fabrics, and finishes on offer. Would you like three buttons or two? Lapels notched or pointed? How about tweed, wool, cashmere, or maybe 24-karat gold pinstripe? Suits are usually completed in six to eight weeks, after two or three fittings (initial measurements, a major fitting, and a follow-up if necessary). The suits as well as the surroundings—Mondrian-inspired industrial shelving lit by neon signs, Magritte-esque lamps made of bowler hats—may be unorthodox, but you'll still be given a proper cup of tea. Some things never change.
