Lingerie in Paris
The bra is as French as the Eiffel Tower. In fact, Herminie Cadolle debuted her revolutionary undergarment at the very same 1889 exhibition for which the tower was built. At Paris' Cadolle Couture, Madame's descendants conduct fittings in the same rooms that have seen the skivvies of Brigitte Bardot, Jeanne Moreau, and Catherine Deneuve; there, more than 120 years of family knowledge is applied to crafting made-to-measure unmentionables. You can go retro with a black lace bra and garter or edgy with a neon lace-up corset. These architectural wonders of ribbons and lace require three to four fittings and more than six weeks to perfect. But, hey, the Eiffel Tower wasn't built overnight.
