7. TAKE A TRAIN FROM THE AIRPORT INTO TOWN, THEN A TAXI TO YOUR HOTEL. Most European cities have quick, frequent train service from the airport to the center of town. If you’re traveling light—in terms of both luggage and people—you might want to elude both a high cab fare and traffic jams by taking the train to the city center, then grabbing a taxi from there. Trying to take the subway from the train station to your hotel can mean a lot of lugging bags up and down stairs—like those above, at the Trocadero Métro station.
