4. GO LIGHT ON RESTAURANTS WITH WAITER SERVICE. In Europe you pay a premium for table service in sit-down restaurants. So we grabbed a lot of meals at informal spots like this one—my kids’ favorite crêpe stand, on the Rue des Rosiers in Le Marais. In Europe there are also many chic restaurants with a separate wine bar section where you can grab a glass of wine and a plate of hors d’oeuvres for about $25 and call it dinner.
